Start of the project “Providing legal aid in cases of discrimination”

On March 3, 2017 the meeting announcing the start of the two year long project “Providing legal aid in cases of discrimination” with the Equality as a partner organization took place at the premises of the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality

On March 3, 2017 the meeting announcing the start of the two year long project “Providing legal aid in cases of discrimination” with the Equality as a partner organization took place at the premises of the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality. Meeting was attended by Saša Gajin from the Centre for Advancement of Legal Studies, Biljana Braithwaithefrom the AIRE Centre, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic and Jovana Vukovic from Equality.

At this occassion attendees discussed the most typical problems regarding the reporting of discrimination, number of complaints, minorities that are the most offen victims of discrimination and the most recent complaints. It was agreed upon that citizens as well as civil society organization should submit complaints in bigger numbers, and that when identifying and proving discrimination new, innovative approaches should be used. In that regard, partner organizations will within the cope of this project organize trainings at which intersted individuals and organizations will be able to learn more about these new approaches.
