Equality has submitted a shadow report to the United Nation Committee for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination

On the occasion of the 94th session of the United Nations Committee for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination Equality in partnership with the Network of Committees for Human Rights (CHRIS) has submitted a shadow report. The report particularly covers the racial discrimination of Roma men and women, rights violations they are facing and cases of hate speech and hate crimes against Roma. Equality has monitored over the last few years the implementation of the Committee’s recommendations as well as analyzed the state report in a great detail, using these findings to underline the existing problems and provide with the concrete recommendations.

Besides, the general remarks about the overall situation of Roma, Equality’s report puts a special emphasis on the problems of segregation both in education and housing, difficulties in applying of the legal provisions regulating hate crimes, rights violations relating to housing, social protection, citizenship and education.
